About Elizabeth

Hi!  I’m Elizabeth, also known as Bitty, a mother of two and wife to the wonderful and very handy Steve.  I am from Pitt Meadows BC and currently on maternity leave with my son but work very part time as a teacher at a local Sylvan Learning Center.  Although I took a few sewing classes in high school I never really loved it (was always just an excuse to socialize with friends) and definitely was not very good at it so it has been a surprise to discover just how much I am enjoying learning to sew.  Can’t beat the feeling of satisfaction when you finish something that can actually be worn or used!

You can find me on instagram as ehamiltongault.

About Sara

Science geek.  Knitter.  Sewist.  Crazy cat lady.  Loyal Vancouverite (despite years in Japan and Ontario).  Swimmer.  Climber.  Crafter extraordinaire!  In a nutshell!

Hello and welcome!  My name is Sara and I am a science geek/Scientist living in Toronto, Canada.  I first learned to sew in high school where I made the ugliest and most awesome green wool blazer complete with welt pockets!  I still get giddy when I think about those pockets!  Anyway, I stepped away from all things handmade until a year ago when I decided I should learn how to knit.  I quickly rediscovered my love of sewing and have been dabbling with all sorts of crafty goodness since then!  Fortunately my sister Elizabeth also has the bug so I now have someone to share with.

You can find me on instagram as moonkun76 or as moonkun on ravelry.

Mom and her chicklets

The Hamilton Chicklets are five BC grown siblings now living in various Canadian cities.  While this blog belongs to Sara and Elizabeth, we’re hoping that enough guilt will get some contributions from the rest of our family on their various handmade adventures!

  1. Wow you two look so much a like! 🙂 Your pieces are beautiful and I look forward to seeing what else you guys come up with. Congrats on your blog.

  2. Hi, thanks very much for visiting my blog, it’s nice to find someone else just starting out. I love the kids clothes it makes me want to try making something again. Unfortunately my daughter never wants to wear anything I sew!

    • Right back at you! I think that Bitty sometimes has the same problem with the clothes that she makes for her daughter. Hard to predict what they will like! Though the sweetheart dress does seem to be a universal favourite for young girls!
